Our volunteers are deeply committed to the welfare of the local feral and community cats. One of the most effective ways we can support these cats is through Trap/Neuter/Return (TNR) that reduces suffering and helps maintain healthy, stable colonies.
Transport volunteers play a vital part in keeping our charity running smoothly. They help us move cats, supplies, and donations between our supporters, fosterers, shops, and our partner veterinary practice in Llansamlet.
We don’t currently have boarding facilities to keep our rescue cats and rely on our network of fosterers to care for our cats and kittens while they wait for their forever homes. We are looking for compassionate people who can offer a safe, calm space to a cat or kittens who may have been abandoned, unwanted, or left homeless. Fosterers usually keep their foster cat or kittens in a spare room, although full‑house fostering is also welcome if there are no other cats in the home.
As a fosterer, you will be required to : · Provide food, water, and a comfortable environment · Offer attention, reassurance, patience and love · Respect the individual needs of each cat — some crave affection while others may need a quiet space · Introduce the cat to a prospective adopter · Update outcomes of vet visits or any concerns to the relevant person · Ideally have a full driving licence and access to transport for vet visits
We supply everything you need, including food, litter, toys, trays, beds, and ongoing support from experienced fosterers. Your care gives each cat the chance to rebuild confidence and feel safe again while they wait for a loving new family.
Shop volunteer
Our two charity shops in Swansea — St Helens Road and Oxford Street — play a vital part in funding our work to help local cats and kittens. Both shops have a friendly, welcoming atmosphere and are wonderful places to meet new people while making a real difference for cats and kittens that require a helping paw. As a shop volunteer, you might: · Serve and chat with customers · Use the till · Create eye‑catching displays · Sort and prepare donations · Steam clothes · Support the day‑to‑day running of a busy, successful charity shop Whether you have a few hours a week or more to give, your help directly supports rescue cats across Swansea
Trap Neuter Return
Our volunteers are deeply committed to the welfare of the local feral and community cats. One of the most effective ways we can support these cats is through Trap/Neuter/Return (TNR) that reduces suffering and helps maintain healthy, stable colonies.
TNR volunteers play a crucial role by safely trapping feral cats using humane traps and enticing food such as tuna or hot chicken. Once a cat is caught, they are taken straight to a pre‑booked appointment with our partner vet, where they are health‑checked, neutered, and treated for fleas and worms. After recovery, the cat is returned to the same location where they were found. TNR is vital in preventing overpopulation and improving the long‑term wellbeing of feral cats across Swansea.
As a TNR volunteer you will : - Liaise with the colony caretaker/owner - Obtain permission and assess the risk - Discuss the cats and funding with relevant volunteers - Trap the cat/kittens - Take the cat to the vet to be neutered, treated for parasites and ear tipped (The internationally recognised sign the feral has been neutered) - Pick up the cat after it has been neutered and return to the same area - Monitor the situation
As a TNR volunteer, you will receive full training and ongoing guidance. A buddy system will be set up with an experienced TNR volunteer during your first weeks and months. All necessary equipment will be provided
A full driving licence and access to transport is essential, as cats must be taken to the vet immediately during standard opening hours.
